Nanci R asked:

My daughter, in her infinite wisdom, put a metal travel mug in the microwave and it caught on fire. The entire cup was in flames within the microwave but the oven itself did not catch on fire. After cleaning out the microwave, the only apparent residual effect is coating on the top of the inside is seriously flaking. In other words, the outer layer of the paint/enamel is mostly gone and/or flaking off. Is it safe to use this microwave? Thanks.

I would not use it. WalMart has them for $60.
    Target has them too.

I wouldn’t risk it. Especially since you can get a new one so cheap. Better safe than sorry.
