NimG asked:

I don’t know how to cook and I live with my Mom who does the cooking. But there are times when even she does not know when to heat leftover food in the microwave oven and when in the oven toaster to get maximum quality and taste. Please help.

If you want something crispy use the toaster oven. Microwaves heat by exciting the water molecules in the food. They essentially steam the food.

Reheating anything bread like use a toaster oven…tip for reheating pizza, use a frying pan on med-low heat, it crisps the crust while remelting the cheese without drying it out…

Microwave anything like soups, stews, casserole type dishes, veggies and such…and to prevent drying out of the food, reheat for a longer time using 50% or less power setting…and always cover food with microwave safe cover or damp paper towel.
